Playerbot Commands - FAQ

What are Playerbots?
Playerbots respond to chat commands.

The Multibot and Unbot addons handle most common commands automatically, but manual commands can still be used during gameplay.

It is important to understand the difference between the two types of bots:

Altbots:
Manually created characters on your account. They require manual control and setup.

Rndbots:
Automatically generated bots based on server configuration (.conf settings).
They will: - Automatically gear themselves
- Apply talents
- Roam the world independently
Altbot Setup Commands
Altbots are characters that you create on your account (or others) first, and then get assigned bot control via the commands below.

Login / Logout:
.playerbots bot add [name1,name2,name3] - login altbots. You can also login bots from other accounts depending on your configuration.
.playerbots bot addaccount [accountname] - login an entire account of altbots.
.playerbots bot remove [name1,name2,name3] - logout altbots.
.playerbots bot add * - login all altbots in your party/raid.
.playerbots bot remove * - logout all altbots in your party/raid.

Automation / Maintenance:
maintenance - enables bots to learn spells, refill consumables, enchant gear and repair. Can also be used on rndbots.
autogear - automatically equips gear based on AutoGearQualityLimit and AutoGearScoreLimit.

Talents:
talents - check current spec of the bot.
talents spec list - list available specs for the class.
talents spec [spec name] - force bot to change talents to selected spec.
talents apply <link> - apply a talent build from a link.

Glyphs:
glyphs - show currently equipped glyphs.
glyph equip [GlyphID1 GlyphID2 GlyphID3 GlyphID4 GlyphID5 GlyphID6] - apply glyphs.

Reset:
reset botAI - reset bot settings.
reset - reset current actions (casting, movement, etc.).
Party / Raid Commands
General Commands:
summon - summon bot to you (see .conf for options)
release - release spirit when dead
revive - revive near a spirit healer
leave - leave party
attack - attack selected target
follow - follow player (/w, /p or /r)
flee - run toward player ignoring everything else
stay - stay in place
runaway - kite mob (currently non-functional)
grind - attack anything nearby
disperse set X - keep distance between bots
disperse disable - reset disperse distance
give leader - transfer group leader to player
Strategies
Bots respond to triggers by selecting actions based on strategies.

There are two types: Combat (co) and Non-combat (nc).

Usage:
co +strategy1,-strategy2,~strategy3
nc +strategy1,-strategy2,~strategy3

Combat Strategies (General):
tank - generate threat (warrior/paladin/druid bear)
tank assist - tank pulls mobs off others
dps - use damage abilities
cc - crowd control (requires rti target)
assist - focus one target
aoe - attack multiple targets
boost - use cooldowns
threat - avoid pulling aggro
grind - attack everything nearby
heal - focus healing
focus - avoid AoE/debuff spam
avoid aoe - avoid dangerous AoE
save mana - conserve mana
healer dps - healers also deal damage
tank face - prevent mobs facing ranged
behind - move behind target
wait for attack - delay combat start (set via: wait for attack time 5)
pull - pull target from range
pull back - pull and return to position

Druid:
bear, cat, caster - handled by talents

Hunter:
trap weave - use traps in rotation

Mage:
frost, fire - based on talents
firestarter - melee flamestrike playstyle

Shaman:
co +[totem] - add specific totem (e.g. co +tremor)

Warlock:
meta melee - demonology melee style

Non-Combat Strategies:
food - eat/drink
pvp - toggle PvP mode
loot - enable looting

Priest:
rshadow - shadow protection

Paladin Blessings:
bdps, bmana, bstats, bhealth

Paladin Auras:
rfire, rfrost, rshadow, baoe, barmor, bcast, bspeed

Hunter Aspects:
bdps, bspeed, bmana, rnature

Warlock Pets:
imp, voidwalker, succubus, felhunter, felguard

Warlock Soulstone:
ss master
ss self
ss tank
ss healer
Account Linking for Altbot Control
As an alternative to controlling characters from your own account or guild members, you can link multiple accounts together to control them as Altbots.


Commands:
.playerbots account setKey [securityKey] - Define a security key for your account (overwrites previous key)
.playerbots account link [ACCOUNTNAME] [securityKey] - Link another account using its security key
.playerbots account linkedAccounts - Show all currently linked accounts
.playerbots account unlink [ACCOUNTNAME] - Remove a linked account (removes access both ways)
Addons (Bot Control)
These addons make controlling playerbots much easier and are highly recommended.

Unbot:
Recommended for most players
Simplifies bot control and automates common commands.
